A lot of things need fixing as time passes, and jewellery pieces are among them. It is often necessary to repair things yourself, especially if the repair work is only a minor one. But you have to know how to go about it and have the right tools to go with it. Most jewellery that needs repair needs keen eyesight since many of the items are very small. It might be useful to buy magnifying goggles to make the work easier. Most of the components in jewellery are very small like clasps that keep the jewellery secured around the neck, arms, wrists or ankles of the wearer. Clasps are usually the first part that gets damaged and needs repair due to constant opening and closing. Pins, hinges, clips and fasteners are predisposed to be fixed. The tools are usually very small pliers (flat, round or needle-nose) and standard screwdrivers.
