Cubic Zirconia
Cubic zirconia is a synthetic gemstone popularly used as a substitute to expensive diamond. The stone is zirconium dioxide’s cubic crystalline form, which was first commercially produced in 1976. Among the range of diamond stimulants or imitations available in the market, cubic zirconia is arguably the most popular because of its diamond-like appearance and quality. It is notable for its hardness, optical flawlessness and economical value. It is widely used in jewellery such as earrings, pendants, cuff links and rings. And though usually colourless, cubic zirconia can be produced in different colours and is less prone to scratches. With these characteristics, this makes it a popular jewellery material among jewellery makers.
